ODOT to host third meeting on U.S. 412 Corridor Study on June 11 and June 12

Thursday, May 23, 2024

The Oklahoma Department of Transportation will host the last series of in-person public meetings to discuss results of the US-412 Planning and Environmental Linkages Study. ODOT and the Arkansas Department of Transportation have partnered together to complete the US-412 PEL Study in advance of US-412 being upgraded to an interstate. A PEL study is a formal process that shortens the project delivery process by allowing data collected at the planning stage to be referenced during the next phase of environmental review.

The US-412 PEL Study area extends approximately 190 miles from I-35 in Oklahoma to I-49 in Arkansas. At this meeting, attendees will be notified of the preferred alternatives and recommended solutions in each planning segment.

The PEL Study is focused on:

  • Addressing Congressionally mandated legislation to convert US-412 to an interstate.
  • Improving safety for all travelers on US-412.
  • Enhancing mobility and improving system and travel time reliability.
  • Enhancing system linkage by connecting rural and urban communities, national airports and inland ports and freight supply chains.

Why a Public Meeting: ODOT and the study team will provide important findings from the PEL study including preferred alternatives that will move into the next phase of environmental analysis as well as projects that are already advancing towards construction. Those who attend can provide feedback on the recommended solutions, ask questions and learn more about how each solution was evaluated.

When/Where: There will be two opportunities to attend one of the in-person public meetings. Both meetings are open house style with no formal presentation and may be visited anytime during the scheduled hours. The material will be the same at both meetings.

  • Public Meeting #1: Tuesday, June 11, from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at Rudisill Regional Library, 1520 N. Hartford Ave. Tulsa, OK
  • Public Meeting #2: Wednesday, June 12, from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at The Bunker Event Space, 3822 W. 530 Rd. Pryor, OK

Those unable to attend the in-person meetings will be able to review content online. A self-guided virtual presentation, survey link and comment form will be posted on the study webpage at www.odot.org/US412InterstateDesignationStudy. The public can access the online presentation and make comments between Tuesday, June 4, and Friday, June 28.
