This may be caused by one of several reasons.
1. The portal will only allow voters to update an address, provided they have not moved to a different county.
If you have moved to a new county, you can submit a new Voter Registration Application through the Online Voter Registration System by clicking "Start the Process" at the top of the OK Voter Portal. If you do not have sufficient information to submit an online application, the portal will direct you back to the OK Voter Portal "registration wizard” to complete a new, paper Voter Registration Application. (Be sure to print, sign, and mail or hand deliver the application to your County Election Board to complete the process.)
You can also download an application from the State Election Board website or pick up an application from your County Election Board. Applications are also available at most tag agencies, libraries, and post offices.
2. The portal cannot recognize an address that is not in the system.
If you have moved into a new construction home or a new housing addition, you may have an address that has not yet been added to the various mapping systems. You will need to complete a new Voter Registration Application and submit it to your County Election Board. You can submit a new application using the Online Voter Registration System or use the OK Voter Portal "wizard" to complete an application, which can be mailed or hand delivered to your County Election Board.
3. You may have entered the address differently that what is displayed in the system.
Please verify your new address to make sure you did not accidently omit a street direction or enter the wrong street type or zip code.
If you are certain no mistakes have been made, but you are unable to successfully enter your address, please complete a Voter Registration Application using the Online Voter Registration System or use the OK Voter Portal "wizard" to complete an application, which can be mailed or hand delivered to your County Election Board.
Once the Voter Registration Application has been received, County Election Board officials and staff can use multiple resources to determine the location of your address and add it to the system.
