Adult Family Services
What We Do
Adult and Family Services (AFS) administers federally funded programs including SNAP food benefits, time limited TANF cash assistance to help families meet basic needs, refugee resettlement assistance, LIHEAP assistance to help low-income households pay their utility bills, LIHWAP assistance to help eligible households pay for drinking and wastewater services, SSP payments to help low-income older Oklahomans with disabilities, TEFRA benefits to help children with physical or mental disabilities, and Title V federal funding for Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs.
Our division goals help us improve our customers’ experience by serving them more quickly while helping them create pathways to self-sufficiency, and by listening to local communities as we work together to help address economic hardships and other social challenges faced by our customers.
