Well-Read Book Club
Overview
The Well-Read Book Club is a learning experience where state employees can learn, discuss and explore new ideas, concepts, and skills together. This learning opportunity creates space for employees to take a deeper dive into relevant topics in the workplace such as leadership development, productivity, bias, inclusion, employee well-being, and more. The purpose of the book club is to foster exploration, connection, and collaboration among state employees with the intention to apply new knowledge and skills in their workplaces.
Format
The Well-Read Book Club provides several offerings throughout the year, these book series consist of individual reading and group discussions of a selected book. The number of meetings, and credit hours will depend on the length of the book. Employees discuss each selected reading during one-hour virtual meetings utilizing Microsoft teams. Each participant enrolled in a book series will receive a reading/discussion schedule and study guide to assist employees in learning and discussions.
In addition, each book club series will have a private, online forum to give participants a chance to virtually connect, discuss key concepts and share learnings with each other throughout the entire book series. Please note: Participants are responsible for obtaining the book, we recommend you utilize your local library.
