Infectious Disease Systems, Informatics and Collaboration
The Infectious Disease Systems and Collaboration Service (IDSC) is tasked with the development, integration, onboarding, and support for infectious disease reporting systems and informatics for Oklahoma in line with the CDC’s Data Modernization Initiative (DMI). IDSC houses PHIDDO, Oklahoma State Department of Health COVID Investigations (OSDHCI) and OSDH Laboratory Reporting System (OLRS) for the reporting, investigation, treatment & care, and data submission to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. IDSC assists health care providers, hospitals, and laboratories, to set up electronic disease reporting to be in compliance with state rules, monitoring data quality, volume, completeness, and timeliness of reporting in accordance with Oklahoma’s disease reporting rules.
IDSC training and collaboration supports infectious disease programs by assessing needs to design, develop, evaluate, and coordinate training programs, policies, and procedures that enhance the capabilities of OSDH internal and external customers involved in infectious disease prevention, investigation, treatment, and surveillance. This area is critical for ensuring internal and external customers have necessary resources to effectively impact infectious disease in the state of Oklahoma.
