Data Modernization Initiative
Systems Integration aims to facilitate connections between different systems with the goal of improving data quality in terms of completeness, timeliness, and accuracy and do so through automated methods. System integrations aims to improve public health services by allowing new insights and doing so through both accelerated identification and response to disease outbreaks and emerging infectious diseases. This area is also leading OSDH Data Modernization Initiative (DMI) efforts that coordinate both agency-wide internal and external partners. DMI activities are focused on planning and implementing policies, procedures, infrastructure, systems, and integrations to develop a more cohesive, robust public health system.

Electronic Reporting
Information on electronic reporting can be found here.
Electronic Lab Reporting (ELR)
Oklahoma is ready to facilitate electronic transmission due to the benefits described below and in light of the updated requirement in state reportable conditions rules. The objective of the Oklahoma Electronic Laboratory Reporting (ELR) project is to convert Oklahoma laboratories to provide positive lab results for reportable diseases/organisms to the OSDH via secure electronic transmission, replacing the conventional paper method of reporting and greatly enhancing the online/web-based data entry process utilized by practitioners.
Electronic Case Reporting (eCR)
The companion of ELR, electronic case reporting (eCR) is the automated, real-time exchange of case report information between electronic health records (EHRs) and public health agencies (PHAs). In addition to allowing EHRs to automatically send reportable cases to PHAs, eCR also allows PHAs to provide information back to healthcare professionals regarding appropriate next steps and resources regarding the case.
