Cancelled "Meetings"
The Oklahoma Corporation Commission is a state regulatory body that complies fully with the Oklahoma Open Meeting Act.
The Commission must be flexible to address certain events as they occur. In order to do that, meeting dates and times are reserved in case a meeting is required. These reservations are submitted to the Secretary of State’s Office in December of the current year and include the 12 months of the coming year.
If a reservation is not needed, it is cancelled. Under the state system, this appears as a “cancelled meeting.”
The Commission rarely, if ever, cancels a meeting for which an agenda has been posted. Our philosophy is to err on the side of transparency in all matters regarding the public.
When warranted, the Commission schedules an emergency meeting in accordance with the provisions of the Act.
