Company Manager License
A Manager is an officer or manager of a company, corporation, partnership, or proprietorship, with the authority to bind the company by contract and provide supervision over the regulated function and operations of such company within the state of Oklahoma.
A manager can only be a manager for one company unless they are a majority owner of each company.
There are eight (8) categories the applicant may apply for:
Burglar Alarm/Residential Fire Alarm
Burglar Alarm/Commercial Fire Alarm
Monitoring Facility (exempt from testing requirements)
Fire Sprinkler
Locksmith
Electronic Access Control
Closed Circuit Television
Nurse Call
Testing Requirements:
Must pass the exam at the Technician level for each category prior to testing for Manager.
All manager applicants must pass the Manager’s test to receive their license.
Must be working for a Licensed Company to have an “Active” license.
Experience Requirements:
Burglar/Fire Alarm category: Minimum of 4 years (8,000 hours).
Locksmith: 8 hours.
Electronic Access Control, Closed Circuit Television, and Nurse Call: 2 years (4,000 hours).
Fire Sprinkler Manager:
Commercial Fire Sprinkler Manager: Must provide current NICET Level III or Level IV Certificate or wallet card for Water-Based System Layout, or verified minimum of five years (10,000 hours) as a Commercial Fire Sprinkler Technician Level employee within the Fire Sprinkler Industry.
Residential Fire Sprinkler Manager: Must provide current NICET Level III or Level IV Certificate or wallet card for Water-Based System Layout, or verified minimum of five years (10,000 hours) as a Technician Level employee within the Fire Sprinkler Industry, or five years (10,000 hours) as a licensed plumber.
Licensing Requirements:
Must submit fingerprints for an OSBI background check.
Provide two forms of acceptable ID.
Completed Application form
Completed Affidavit of Lawful Presence form.
Fees:
New application: $170.00
Renewal: $100.00
Expired license renewal: Double the standard fee.
Replacement license: $25.00
Note: The expiration date of the license will not change upon renewal or replacement.
Issuance: The license will be issued once the applicant has a photo taken, IDs verified, background check results are received, and is currently working for a licensed Company. If the Company is new, a license can be issued once the Company is approved by the Committee.
*All individuals making an initial application will need to submit a current passport photo or appear in person at ODOL or an approved process site to have their photo taken.
