Child Labor Unit (CLU)
Notices
The Child Labor Unit (CLU) is dedicated to enforcing child labor laws to protect minors. These laws regulate the legal age for employment, the work permit process, work hours, breaks, and prohibited jobs to ensure the safety and well-being of young workers.
In Oklahoma, the Child Labor Law applies to children aged 14-17 employed in non-farm jobs. This law identifies occupations that are harmful to minors' health or morals and those particularly hazardous to their safety. Farm jobs, however, are exempt from the provisions of the Oklahoma Child Labor Law.
Our goal is to safeguard young workers by ensuring they are employed under safe and fair conditions. For more information on child labor laws and how they protect minors, please contact the Child Labor Unit.
