Passenger Carriers

Transporters of passengers for hire in intrastate commerce are required to hold an Intrastate For-Hire Motor Carrier License, except when:

  • Operating a taxicab, as defined by 47 O.S. 1-174, wholly within a municipality, provided the operator of the taxicab is licensed by the municipality in which business is conducted; or
  • Operating a bus, as defined by 47 O.S. 1-105, not between two or more cities or towns, provided the operator of the bus is licensed by a municipality in which business is conducted.

Private carriers of passengers are not required to obtain an Intrastate Motor Carrier License.
